About Me

Hi there, and welcome!

My name is Michaela, and I am passionate about supporting women in pregnancy and early motherhood. I truly believe that food can be a powerful medicine, both physical and emotional. As a mother myself, I have learned firsthand just how important investing in your health can be in the short and long term.

During my own pregnancy, I wanted to “eat healthy” and had some foundations to do so, but I quickly found out that pregnancy can flip everything you know on its head. This, plus the fatigue of information overwhelm on social media led me to feel slightly lost and confused. It seems like the second you find out you’re pregnant, the algorithm knows to send you pregnancy advice, opinions, and everything in between!

I found it to be incredibly exhausting to scroll for ages and to be hit with so much information that, at the time, I didn’t really know what to do with. If I had known that there were people out there that specialized in pregnancy nutrition, I absolutely would have jumped at the chance to work with them!

After coming home from the hospital with my son, I was fortunate to have the loving support of my mother, who stayed with us for a few weeks. A skilled cook, she lovingly prepared nourishing soups and broths, ensuring I was well-fed and cared for during that demanding time. This experience deeply impacted me. I realized how invaluable that support was, especially in a city like New York where access to family and community can be limited for many. This inspired me to create a space where other mothers can receive the same level of care and feel nurtured and empowered on their motherhood journey.

I witnessed firsthand the importance of proper nutrition for both mother and baby, and I am passionate about supporting other women on this incredible journey. This led me down a path of study where I focused on just that. I can happily say I am a Certified Nutrition Consultant after completing my studies with Oh Baby Nutrition, specializing in pregnancy and postpartum nutrition. I am also in the process of becoming a Holistic Postpartum Practitioner, which will help me even more to help new mothers.

My mission is to empower women to prioritize and invest in their health during this transformative period of matrescence. I believe that motherhood should be a time of joy and nourishment, and I'm dedicated to helping you feel loved and supported through lovingly prepared meals, guided by holistic nutrition principles, to bring ease and nourishment to the precious period of postpartum and matrescence.

It really does take a village. I would be honored to be a part of yours.
